Practitioner Only Exclusivity
Many Australian practitioners have become increasingly disenchanted with the sale of so-called ‘Practitioner Only Products’ in the general retail market, primarily health stores and pharmacies. As BioMedica is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the role of the wholistic practitioner, we ensure that only licensed practitioners (who meet our stringent policy requirements) have unique access to our products. To our knowledge, we are the only true ‘Practitioner Only Company’ in Australia who has put in place such a policy.
BioMedica Sales Policy
BioMedica is a company strongly devoted towards the development and maintenance of clinical practice. As such, we have developed products that are only available to bona-fide practitioners (“Practitioner Only”) in a clinical situation.
There are only two circumstances that we have permitted sales outside of this policy:
- Pharmacies acting to fill a script on behalf of a practitioner. This is on the condition that the product is to be kept with other scheduled medicines out of reach (behind the pharmacy prescription counter), and out of view. Under no circumstance should a BioMedica practitioner only product be sold without a prescription.
- Pharmacies and Health stores that have ‘full’ clinic rooms within the store. By ‘full’ we mean that the clinic should act like every other clinic. Consultation must occur in an enclosed space, with case history, diagnostic, prognostic and treatment records kept secured on site. Product must only be kept in and dispensed from the consultation room after consultations. Repeats must only be dispensed in a like manner by the practitioner. Pharmacies may dispense from the prescription counter. BioMedica reserves the right to remove products when they are stored or sold inappropriately.
